The newly constructed Parliament of the Sultanate of Oman, referred to as Majlis Oman, was envisioned to become Muscat's iconic landmark, serving as the capital city's symbol.

With its completion in early 2013, the Majlis was intended to stand as a prominent and recognizable structure in Muscat. Spanning across a 101,000 sq. m. site, the facility comprises separate buildings for the upper and lower houses of Parliament, an area designated for VIPs, an information center, and a library.
